Republican Fundraising Begins to Pay Off

The Cook Political Report, which rates congressional races, has moved Florida’s 22nd district — where incumbent Ron Klein is facing GOP challenger Allen West — out of “likely Democrat” territory and into “lean Democrat” territory. West is a fierce fundraiser, who has raked in $1.5 million more than his opponent over the election cycle, and has out-fundraised Klein for four consecutive reporting periods.

Meanwhile, Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza reports that the Republican Governors Association will drop $2 million into the Florida gubernatorial race, to complement the $2 million it spent branding Democrat Alex Sink during the primary.
