Angle, Heck Comment on Nevada Unemployment

Sharron Angle on today’s unemployment reports:

Welcome to Nevada, Mr. President. It’s good that you’re here to see first-hand what your and Harry’s ‘recovery’ has done to our state. We have 14.4% unemployment and the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. You and Harry together have destroyed the Nevada economy.

There will be a time when the American people hold you accountable for what you have done to them, but you’re not on the ballot this year—Harry Reid is. In eleven days, we’ll start a real recovery when he’s fired and your agenda comes to a screeching halt once and for all.

NV-3 hopeful Joe Heck:

This figure is an emotional and frustrating reminder that Dina Titus forgot us. When Congresswoman Titus went to Washington in January of 2009, statewide unemployment was 9.6 percent. Throughout her tenure, she has maintained that it is her job to create jobs but, by her own standards, Congresswoman Titus is a failure. These numbers serve as verification of this unfortunate fact.

Congresswoman Titus placed Pelosi’s priorities of Obamacare and the job-killing Cap and Trade bill over the need for private sector job creation in southern Nevada. Unemployment at 15 percent has long been the anticipated bottom as Washington has failed to pass any real pro-small business legislation. When Congresswoman Titus and Nancy Pelosi left Washington without extending the tax cuts, they left uncertainty and anxiety in small businesses, the real job creators in our country. Until we are able to send representatives to Washington with job creation as their top priority, Las Vegas will remain mired in unemployment and our struggling families will continue to suffer.
