Among likely voters, Sen. Barbara Boxer has a 1-point lead over Republican Carly Fiorina, 46 percent to 45 percent in a poll released today by Reuters/Ipsos.
The poll also showed significantly higher enthusiasm among Republicans than Democrats. Eighty-one percent of Republicans are certain they will vote, while only 65 percent of Democrats are. Seventy-seven percent said the state was on the wrong track.
The previous Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted October 2 – 4, had Boxer ahead by 4 points, 49 percent to 45 percent.
The RealClearPolitics poll average gives Boxer a 2.3-point lead.
