California Senate Race Continues to be Close

A new SurveyUSA poll of likely voters shows that Sen. Barbara Boxer and Republican Carly Fiorina are in a tight race, with Boxer two points ahead of Fiorina, 46 percent to 44 percent.

“SurveyUSA’s results follow the trend we’ve seen in multiple polls: although Barbara Boxer has spent millions of dollars in unfounded, baseless attacks ads against Carly Fiorina, Fiorina continues to close the gap with Boxer, and this race remains in a statistical dead heat,” said Fiorina press secretary Andrea Saul in a statement. “As our campaign continues to remind voters of the lowlights of Boxer’s career and her utter failure to deliver results for the people of this state, we expect Boxer’s support to fall from this ceiling, while Carly’s support will continue growing,” she added.

Four percent of voters remained undecided. The RealClearPolitics average of recent polls shows Boxer leading by a point.
