‘Chris Coons the Taxman’

The O’Donnell campaign has released a new video, “Chris Coons the Taxman,” that uses ominous music and the ever-nearing approach of a faceless villain to bring a foreboding atmosphere to a recitation of tax hikes proposed or enacted by Coons.

“In America, where jobs are  being lost and wages cut,” the narrator intones, “in Delaware, where the economy is suffering, and families are losing their homes, there is one man who stood against the tide and raised taxes.”

The spot notes that Coons proposed a tax on 911 cell phone calls, raised property taxes by nearly 50 percent, and “drove New Castle County on the brink of bankruptcy.”

“Hide your will, hide your lights,” the narrator finishes, “‘cause he’s taxing everything out here.”
