Dan Debicella’s campaign releases an internal poll showing him leading Rep. Jim Himes by four points:

· Dan currently leads Jim Himes 46%-42% in our most recent survey, with 9% undecided. Once again, Himes has been stuck at 42% since August, despite his continued negative attacks against Dan.
· Dan leads 48%-42% among voters who are most likely to turn out.
· Among voters who have heard of both candidates, Dan leads 50%-41%. Among voters who have an opinion of both candidates, Dan leads 60%-34%.
· The Republican leads the generic ballot, 50%-41%.
· By a 53%-37% margin, voters prefer a Republican to provide a check and balance to the Speaker and the President, rather than a Democrat who will support their programs.
· The Bottom Line: Dan Debicella’s numbers continue to improve, while Jim Himes is stuck in the same place he was in August.
National Research Inc. conducted a telephone survey in Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District on October 17-18, 2010. The survey was conducted among 300 likely voters and has a margin of error of +/- 5.66% in 95 out of 100 cases. 36% of the sample are registered Democrats, 34% are registered Republicans and 30% are registered unaffiliated/undeclared voters
