Rubio’s campaign announced breathtaking fundraising numbers yesterday — $5 million during the third quarter. “With close to 100,000 donors, the size and enthusiasm of our donor base gives us a virtually unlimited pool of support we can return to again and again over the final stretch of this campaign,” Rubio strategist Todd Harris wrote in a statement. Several media are reporting that the haul breaks the quarterly record for a U.S. Senate race in Florida. The previous record, interestingly enough, was also set by Rubio — last quarter. Rubio will enter the final stretch of this campaign with approximately $5.5 million in cash on hand, which will allow him to dominate the airwaves.
