Keystone Friday Morning Update

  • Keith Rothfus, Republican challenger to Jason Altmire in western Pennsylvania’s 4th district, is keeping the heat on in a tight race. After joining the ranks of the “Young Guns,” Rothfus has just unveiled a new site, cleverly named, that goes after his opponent’s record in Congress. Check out BlueDogCatcher.com.

  • Joe Biden, who spoke at Penn State on Tuesday, will be returning to Pennsylvania on Oct. 11 to hold a fundraiser for embattled first-term blue dog Kathy Dahlkemper in the third district, and Mark Critz in the 12th, the man who took over for the late John Murtha.

  • The Associated Press is running a piece on Pat Toomey and Joe Sestak’s efforts to persuade the commonwealth’s 1 million veterans to support their bid for senate. Battle ‘10 covered liberal VoteVets.org’s literature drop, which will mean another $500,000 going into the race for Sestak.

  • NPR has put up a piece on Crossroads GPS’s “truth bending” ad against Joe Sestak, charging him with “gutting” Medicare. We covered this issue previously on Battle ‘10. For more, visit NPR.

  • The Harrisburg Patriot-News is running is a piece complaining about the fact that Toomey and Sestak have not yet sat down to debate. The first debate, scheduled for this past Monday, featured only Toomey, after Sestak ducked out to host a fundraiser with John Kerry in Pittsburgh.
