Keystone Tuesday Afternoon Update

  • Chris Christie came to Pennsylvania yesterday to endorse Tom Corbett in his bid for governor against Democrat Dan Onorato. Battle ‘10 was there. Video of Corbett’s acceptance can be seen here, Christie’s full remarks can be found here, and highlights can be found here and here.

  • A new poll out from Magellan shows Corbett maintaining his 10-point lead over Onorato, 48 percent to 38 percent. Unlike something cataclysmic happens over the final 20 days, Corbett’s got this one locked up.

  • Pat Toomey was endorsed today by the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, which cited Toomey’s support of fixing inequities in Social Security’s benefits for public sector employees.

  • In bad news for Dan Onorato, his cited “mentor”, Gov. Ed Rendell, is supporting a half trillion dollar federal stimulus for infrastructure. This comes on the heels of last week’s endorsement of a $117 billion dollar Amtrak project.

  • On the heels of Dee Adcock’s internal poll suggesting a dead-heat race against Democrat Allyson Schwartz in the 13th district of Montgomery County, Schwartz has released her own internal poll showing her in a commanding 57 percent to 32 percent lead. Battle ‘10 spoke with Adcock yesterday about the race.
