Sen. Lisa Murkowski failed Alaska’s bar exam four times before passing it on her fifth try, reported McClatchy Newspapers over the weekend. The Tea Party Express — a group that spent nearly $600,000 in support of Joe Miller in the primary, and was bashed in a recent Murkowski TV ad as “a California group … try[ing] to take our [Alaska’s] seat” — responded to revelation about Murkowski’s background with a press release that accused her of unfairly attacking Miller’s background,
Politico reports that the Tea Party Express accused Murkowski of having “minions going to reporters off the records telling them awful things [about Joe Miller’s legal record],” and noted that Murkowski’s failed bar exams made this a case of “the pot calling the kettle black.”
Last week, The Hill reported that the Tea Party Express is planning to start airing a new anti-Murkowski TV ad today. They’re also arranging a radioathon and rally.
