Murray Leads by 8

Sen. Patty Murray has an 8 point lead over Dino Rossi in a new CNN/Time poll — 51 percent to 43 percent among likely voters, with two percent undecided. Oddly, given the national trend, Murray’s lead among registered voters in smaller, just four points:

“Washington is one of the few states CNN has polled in this fall in which Democrats and Republicans are equally enthusiastic about voting,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “Combine that with a voting population that has trended Democratic in its past voting behavior and we see a state in which the likely voter model adds a couple of points to the Democratic candidate.”

The current RealClearPolitics polling average has Murray at 48.5 percent, Rossi at 44.5 percent, though we have yet to see a string of consistent results. It remains a “Toss Up.”
