Nevada Early Voting Update

As of the close of early voting polls Tuesday, 61,790 people have early voted in Clark County. The breakdown by party is 28,671 Democrats, 23,579 Republicans, and 9,540 non-partisans.

Cumulatively, adding early votes with absentee ballot votes, 10.6 percent of Clark County Democrats have turned out while the Republicans have turned out 12 percent of their base. The GOP led the turnout difference by 1.2 percent on Monday. They now lead by 1.4 percent.

When the Washoe County early votes are added into the mix, the Democrats show a turnout of 10 percent, while the GOP is at 11.1 percent.

With just four days of data in front of us, it is still too soon to say whether either party is going to exceed typical turnout numbers for a midterm election and whether the GOP will surge as expected. Having said that, the Democrats are surely watching the daily numbers closely and hoping that 1.1 percentage gap does not widen too much more.
