New Boxer Radio Ad Features Obama

Sen. Barbara Boxer’s campaign has released a radio ad that features President Obama urging Californians to vote for Boxer, saying that “the stakes couldn’t be higher” on November 2.

“Barbara Boxer is fighting every single day for jobs to get our economy back on and put California back to work,” says the president. “Whether it’s new clean energy jobs or leading the fight against tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, she’s determined to get the words ‘Made in America’ on our products again.”

Obama also touts Boxer’s “after-school law” that “keeps 1 million kids off the streets and out of gangs,” and argues that she is fighting the banks to help families remain in their houses.

“I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with Barbara Boxer through the tough fights. I believe California needs her and I know I need her,” says Obama.

A recent SurveyUSA poll found that 45 percent of Californians approved of Obama, with 49 percent disapproving.

But the Boxer campaign doesn’t appear to be worried about any backlash from touting the president’s support. “We are proud to have President Obama’s strong support in this election,” said Boxer campaign manager Rose Kapolczynski in a statement. “In our new ad, President Obama highlights Barbara Boxer’s efforts to create jobs and turn our economy around.”

The ad will air in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.
