The Club for Growth released a new poll that has Republican senate candidate Joe Miller just barely ahead at 33 percent. Sen. Lisa Murkowski closely trails at 31 percent, while Democrat Scott McAdams is at 27 percent.
The poll has a 4.9 percent margin of error.
Among voters who are view their vote as decided, Miller’s lead is more significant at 29 percent to the 22 percent and 21 percent respectively committed to Murkowski and McAdams. Among the 37 percent of voters who consider themselves to be moderate, Murkowski and McAdams both capture 36 percent of the vote.
“The bottom line in this particular ballot test is that Miller leads among the high value groups and targets, while McAdams and Murkowski are locked in a dead heat among other important groups, such as pre-seniors (who turn out in big numbers), and the most committed voters,” concluded National Research, Inc.’s Adam Geller. Among pre-seniors (those ranging from 55 to 64 years old), Miller was backed by 35 percent, Murkowski by 29 percent, and McAdams by 26 percent.
