President Obama is aggressively pushing for Governor Pat Quinn. So is his wife. This as Quinn is holding a jobs rally in an effort to sound competent. It isn’t working, as his opponent was just endorsed by the Chicago Tribune. And Pantagraph says “a pox on both your houses.” And the Washington Post openly frets about Quinn’s chances, saying his loss could lead to catastrophic “trickle-down” results for Democrats, including Reps. Debbie Halvorson (IL-11) and Phil Hare (IL-17). Brady, for his part, is optimistic. Besides the Tribune, he has an endorsement from The State Column and from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. He also has a new line claiming he helped expose Rod Blagojevich. Still, Quinn also has Joe Biden.

Alexi Giannoulias continues to disavow that he did anything wrong at Broadway Bank. Methinks Alexi doth protest too much. However, the Chicago Sun-Times seems convinced. And ironically enough, Giannoulias is hitting Kirk for not understanding how the private sector works. This from the guy who had Obama stumping for him while decrying the influence of those dang foreign corporations?! And the DNC is trying to turn Kirk into the untrustworthy one in this new ad:

The NRCC has a new ad in IL-17 attacking Phil “I Don’t Care About the Constitution” Hare:
-
And Hare isn’t going to get much sleep, judging by the news coverage that’s been coming out recently. The GOP is throwing whatever they’ve got at him. Hare, of course, is hitting back. And on taxation, of all things, he’s hitting Republican challenger Bobby Schilling for supposed “hypocrisy” on the issue. For a more civil tone, one can read these contrasting interviews from Hare and Schilling, respectively.

Debbie Halvorson of IL-11 will face off against her Republican challenger Adam Kinzinger this Tuesday. And she appears to have just the endorsement to give Kinzinger hope — one from communists. I don’t think even an NRA endorsement can make up for that. Kinzinger leads by a wide margin in polls.

Meanwhile, Jan Schakowsky in IL-9 gets crushed in a debate with Joel Pollak. That’s what happens when you try to go negative on someone who can duke it out with Barney Frank.
