The National Republican Senatorial Committee will be spending another $1.8 million in California, bringing the total spent by the NRSC in the state to $4.8 million, the maximum permitted by federal law.
The NRSC decided to cancel funding $4 million in TV ads in Florida, after deciding that Republican senate candidate Marco Rubio didn’t need the assistance.
“With state unemployment above 12 percent and voters struggling to make ends meet, Californians are tired of millionaire Senator Barbara Boxer’s reckless spending agenda and record debt in Washington.,” NRSC spokeswoman Amber Marchand told Battle ’10. “Californians deserve a real leader in the U.S. Senate who will help rein in the current administration’s out-of-control economic agenda, and thanks to Carly Fiorina’s candidacy, this seat represents a very competitive pick-up opportunity for Republicans in November.”
The RealClearPolitics poll average gives Sen. Barbara Boxer a 3.3-point lead in the race.
