11 Days Until the Election
Gubernatorial Race
-
The race between John Kasich and Ted Strickland is not only the most acrimonious in recent history, but according to recent campaign filings, it’s also the most expensive. And John Kasich is at an advantage in that expensive race, given that he has more cash on-hand, according to the Toledo Blade. He also has a huge roster of big names prepared to campaign for him next week, barely a week before Election Day. But as always, the big question is who will create more jobs and of what kind, and the Dayton Daily News has a good summary of that debate.
House Races
-
Betty Sutton, Democrat of OH-13, is proud of her record. Take notes, GOP, because that record is pretty loyalist. Still, it apparently convinced the Cleveland Sun. One thing is for sure: The Democratic attacks on Sutton’s opponent Tom Ganley are highly exaggerated. As are the rumors of his fiscal insolvency.
-
OH-9 is getting dirty. On the one hand, Democrat Marcy Kaptur is accusing her Republican opponent Rich Iott of being dishonest about her record on labor issues. On the other hand, her record on military issues is…spotty, to say the least.
-
Although Zack Space of OH-18 originally could tout his endorsement by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, that endorsement might be in danger now, as VFW officials are calling for almost all endorsements to be rescinded.
-
Charlie Wilson and Bill Johnson of OH-6 face off in a debate. Johnson seems to have done better for the exposure. We’ll see.
