Pat Meehan: Democrats Refuse to Run on Their Agenda

King of Prussia, Pa. – Pat Meehan, running a hard race against Democrat Bryan Lentz in Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district, spoke ahead of a firehouse rally for Tom Corbett this evening near Philadelphia.

Meehan, voice nearly cracking, decried Bryan Lentz as representative of a failed Washington status quo, denouncing his support of cap and trade legislation as an industrial job killer. Lentz appeared yesterday with Vice President Joe Biden, and has been endorsed by President Obama.

“I’m not hearing any Democrats out there walking and talking and running on healthcare,” said Meehan. “And I’m not hearing anyone out there from that Democrat Party talking and walking and saying all that they’ve done with that stimulus bill,” he said to the supportive crowd.

“And as a former prosecutor, I’m not seeing any of them stand up so strongly, so proudly, and talk about what a wonderful job they’ve done getting justice for America with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who they want to try in Manhattan.”

Meehan and Lentz are locked in an ideological contest for Joe Sestak’s soon-to-be-vacant congressional seat in Delaware County.
