Retreat: DCCC Shrinks Philadelphia Ads by Half

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has canceled ads it planned to air this week across the Philadelphia media market, according to reports. Instead of launching its final series of ads today, as planned, the DCCC has pushed the air date to next Tuesday, Oct. 26.

At least three critical House races will be impacted by the cancellation of the ad buy. At issue is whether this cancellation will provide a further boost to Republicans Pat Meehan, Mike Fitzpatrick, and incumbent Charlie Dent in the 7th, 8th, and 15th districts, respectively.

“As the electoral environment deteriorates for Democrats, they continue to have to cut lose more and more Pelosi loyalist,” the National Republican Congressional Committee told Battle ‘10. “Rep. Murphy is the latest casualty of the desperate triage being undertaken by the DCCC. At this point currently vulnerable Members are finding themselves passed over for newly emerging vulnerable Democrats.”
