CO: Dems Outperforming Early Voter Turnout, Polls

Denver mayor John Hickenlooper (D) has retained the governor’s seat, joined by Rep. Ed Perlmutter in Colorado’s 7th congressional district.

While Republican Cory Gardner unseated Rep. Betsy Markey in CO-4, Democrats in Colorado appear to have outperformed polling and early voter turnout.

Republicans entered Tuesday with hefty margins in partisan voter turnout, and in many of the federal races, they were tied or leading in many of the polls headed into Election Day.

The big prize — a U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by appointed Democratic senator Michael Bennet — is still up for grabs. Bennet leads Republican Ken Buck by 45,000 votes out of 850,000 counted so far, a lead of five percent.
