High Turnout in Delaware

Delaware election commissioner Elaine Manlove tells Battle ’10 that she guesses voter turnout is “higher than normal, maybe a 50 percent turnout.”

10,762 absentee ballots have been returned to the state. 4750 ballots were returned by Democrats, 4177 by Republicans, and 1835 by independents or others. Considering that Democrats outnumber Republicans by over 100,000 in the state, these absentee ballot numbers indicate significantly higher enthusiasm among GOP voters in the state.
