Robert Schostak, the finance chairman of the Michigan GOP, calls Saul Anuzis a “fundraising workhorse” in an e-mail to members of the Republican National Committee. “Michigan’s major donor program is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with over 100 members who contribute $30,000 per year or more,” Schostak writes. “When Saul was elected Chairman there were fewer than 50 such donors. As Chairman he grew that list to nearly 70, and today it exceeds 100. By comparison, most other states, at best, have 10 to 15 donors who give at that level.”
Schostak also defends Anuzis from the charge that he failed to stem an anti-Republican tide in Michigan. “Saul achieved these outstanding financial results during the biggest anti-Republican wave elections in decades, in our state, Michigan, with the sickest economy in the nation, without a sitting Republican President, Governor or United States Senator to help out,” he argues. “As we all know, it’s much easier to raise funds with a Governor doing the dialing, but of course to do it under these tougher circumstances is a different matter altogether.” Read the full letter below.

Saul Anuzis: Proven Fundraising Workhorse
It is widely recognized and acknowledged that the RNC is in a deep hole: the Washington Times reports that the committee’s debt will reach $20 million. Some estimate it could even be more. The next Chairman of the Committee has to quickly address that deficit, and then begin stockpiling funds to compete with an incumbent President and the first billion dollar campaign in American history.
One candidate for RNC Chairman has the proven record as a fundraising workhorse: Saul Anuzis.
· Michigan’s major donor program is one of the largest of its kind in the country, with over 100 members who contribute $30,000 per year or more.
