Priebus Wins Sununu’s Backing

Governor John Sununu, chairman of the New Hampshire Republican party, endorsed Reince Priebus for chair of the Republican National Committee earlier today. “I know that most of us on the RNC are going through a difficult process of deciding whom to support in the race for Chairman,” Sununu writes in a statement to the press. “Our choice is made difficult because we are choosing among candidates who are both qualified and our friends. . . . [Priebus] can and will begin the process of developing and putting in place the programs that will ultimately lead to our success during the next two years.”

Sununu’s endorsement brings Priebus’s total to 41 votes. Read the full statement below.

Dear RNC Members:

It is an honor to announce New Hampshire Governor and State Chairman John H. Sununu’s endorsement of our campaign.

Governor Sununu has dedicated his life to advancing our Party and conservative principles, while serving in a variety of leadership roles from the governor’s office in the great state of New Hampshire to the White House. In his most recent role as Chairman of the Republican Party of New Hampshire, Governor Sununu led the state GOP to historic victories by taking veto-proof control of both houses of the Legislature, taking back two US House seats from the Democrats and winning the open US Senate seat. His contributions to our Party have resonated all across America.

Governor Sununu had this to say upon his endorsement of our campaign:

“I know that most of us on the RNC are going through a difficult process of deciding whom to support in the race for Chairman. Our choice is made difficult because we are choosing among candidates who are both qualified and our friends. I have now come to the point where I have made my choice. I will be supporting Reince Priebus. He can and will begin the process of developing and putting in place the programs that will ultimately lead to our success during the next two years. I respectfully encourage my fellow RNC members to unite behind him and his plans to build a strong, united Party that is solely focused on winning in all 50 states.”

– Governor Sununu

I’m excited to have Governor Sununu on board our team. Together, we have the ability to begin a new era of conservative leadership that will translate into victories across the nation.

Weirdo O’Rourke

Friends of the young Bill Clinton and Barack Obama spoke of the special glow of promise they had about them, even back in their early twenties. Angels sat on their shoulders. One More Profile of Beto, Because America Needs It

Somewhere in Texas, filed on the fly by a glossy-magazine correspondent, and totally not as a parody written by Jim Geraghty -- “It’s all about vision,” Beto O’Rourke tells me, standing tall upon the Texas prairie, or brush, or whatever this high hilltop area is supposed to be called. We’re watching the ... Read More
