Pro-Life Group Praises Cino

In a letter to Maria Cino, the National Right to Life committee extols the candidate’s social conservatism, opposition to Obamacare, and backing of pro-life candidates. “We think it is a major achievement for the pro-life people in America and the Republican Party that all of the candidates for Republican chairman have taken a pro-life position,” David O’Steen and Darla Martin, the executive directors, write. Despite the committee’s praise, it declines to endorse Cino — or anybody else, for that matter. The full letter is below.

Dear Maria,

Thank you for reaching out to and meeting with National Right to Life several weeks ago as one of your first meetings after you entered the RNC chairman race.

We appreciate your 100% agreement with the whole range of pro-life policies in our National Right Life 2010 federal candidate questionnaire and your opposition to Obamacare and particularly its pro-abortion and health care rationing provisions.

We also appreciate your dedicated efforts to elect pro-life candidates, most notable President George W. Bush.

We think it is a major achievement for the pro-life people in America and the Republican Party that all of the candidates for Republican chairman have taken a pro-life position.

Since all of the candidates are pro-life, National Right to Life is not endorsing any specific candidate in this race.

Sincerely,

David N. O’ Steen
