RNC Watch has word that Gail Russell, the national committeewoman for Kentucky, and Jan Staples, the national committeewoman for Maine, will endorse Ann Wagner for chair of the RNC tonight. Their endorsements bring Wagner’s total to 14 votes, tying her with Saul Anuzis in third place.
UPDATE: In a message to members, Russell and Staples express their confidence in Wagner’s executive abilities. “Ann Wagner came to Maine in the middle of a snowstorm to ask for my support and this is exactly the kind of dedication and work ethic she will demonstrate in fundraising and winning elections if we elect her as our next RNC Chair,” Staples says.
“Ann is a skilled fundraiser, manager, communicator and she knows how to win elections and lead our party to victory in 2012,” Russell adds.
