Crackdown Beginning?

Everything is very unclear at the moment, but in the last several minutes, a warning from VP Omar Suleiman has been relayed to protesters saying that negotiations will not begin until the protests begin. Then the military seemed to make a more-concerted-than-usual effort to drive protesters from Tahrir square. Many bursts of automatic weapon fire have been shot into the air — it does not appear any were fired into the crowds so far. But things do seem to be getting more tense very suddenly.
