Curfew Eased

Here’s a peculiar item: the Egyptian regime has eased the curfew they imposed starting last week; it will now last from 7pm to 6 am.

Of course, the immediate question is: why? The curfew has been completely ignored for over a week now. The curfew will make no difference at all. So is it purely symbolic, the regime trying to signal concession?
