Compound Destroyed as Qaddafi Promises “Long, Drawn-Out War”

Yesterday, Tomahawk missiles destroyed Qaddafi’s main compound in Tripoli, leading to debate about how such action fit into the allied forces stated goals of protecting civilians and Benghazi, but “not going after Qaddafi” (as Adm. Mike Mullen put it). The road to Benghazi was littered with the detritus of Qaddafi-loyalists’ vehicles and tanks.
