As online calls for a Friday Day of Rage reach a fever-pitch in Saudi Arabia, police have already clashed with protesters. The Associated Press reports

 

Saudi police open fire at rally in the east after government warns it won’t tolerate protests, the Associated Press reports.

The incident comes on the eve of protests planned in the kingdom.

The AP quotes witnesses in Riyadh as reporting seeing riot police and special forces with batons and tear gas, particularly around shopping malls and main roads.
