Romney Loses Former N.H. Campaign Chair

Bruce Keough, who chaired Mitt Romney’s New Hampshire campaign in 2008, won’t be supporting Romney this time around. Instead, he’s considering backing Mitch Daniels or Tim Pawlenty, reports Mother Jones.

“I don’t think the voters are looking for somebody who’s going to be recasting himself,” Keough told Mother Jones. “They want somebody who’s been true to a certain set of political ideals for a while.”

But he also indicated that he doesn’t like Romney’s campaign style. Keough criticized Romney for having too many media consultants and strategists, which he felt hampered Romney’s ability to campaign on a consistent theme. “I think his last campaign was plagued by too many cooks in the kitchen,” Keough said.

Keough, who ran for governor in 2002, is a former New Hampshire state senator.
