Bachmann Hires Rollins

Add another hire to Michele Bachmann’s campaign (to be) team: Ed Rollins.

Rollins, who served as national campaign chairman for Mike Huckabee in 2008, has a long history of running campaigns, including Ronald Reagan’s triumphant 1984 run.

The hire, reported by CBS News, shows that Bachmann’s announcement is just a matter of when, not if. In addition to the Rollins hire, the Minnesota congresswoman has tapped GOP pollster Ed Goeas. She’s also agreed to participate in the New Hampshire debate scheduled June 13.

Last month, Rollins talked to the Wall Street Journal about Bachmann and Sarah Palin. “The girls are the exciting candidates,” he said. “They’re the ones that can create a stir.”
