Gingrich Blasts Media for Focusing on ‘Irrelevant’ Campaign ‘Turmoil’

Newt Gingrich would like to stop getting questions about the state of his campaign in the aftermath of massive staff resignations.

“It’s very difficult to get past the gossip,” Gingrich told Fox News host Neil Cavuto in an interview this afternoon, lambasting the media for paying attention to the status of his campaign rather than matters of “substance,” such as his jobs plan.

“I run my own campaign,” Gingrich said, noting that he had developed the Contract with America without consultant assistance.  ”I think the turmoil frankly is irrelevant.”
