King: ‘Easier’ for Bachmann to Become President than Nab House Leadership Position

Rep. Steve King thinks Michele Bachmann will find the path to the presidency smoother than the road to a House leadership position.

“It’s easier for Michele Bachmann to be elected president of the United States than it is for her to become the chair of an ‘A committee’ here in the United States Congress,” the Iowa Republican, a good friend of Bachmann’s, told MinnPost.

Bachmann unsucessfully campaigned for the number 4 House leadership spot after the election.

“The American people vote for president, and the structure in here is a leadership structure that controls those positions. That’s the fact of it, and it’s an ironic thing but that’s the fact of it. And I trust the people,” King said.
