New Poll: Bachmann in Second Place After Debate

Michele Bachmann wowed GOP voters so much during Monday night’s debate that a new Rasmussen poll done after the debate shows Bachmann in second place among GOP candidates, backed by 19 percent of likely primary voters.

Mitt Romney, who is also viewed as giving a strong performance during the debate, came in first place, backed by 33 percent.

Herman Cain is in third (10 percent), trailed by Newt Gingrich (9 percent), Ron Paul (7 percent), Tim Pawlenty (6 percent), Rick Santorum (6 percent), and Jon Huntsman (2 percent).

Romney and Bachmann are currently scoring the same percentage of the Tea Party vote: 26 percent. Among those who don’t view themselves as Tea Partiers, Romney gets 36 percent backing to Bachmann’s 16 percent.
