No Truce for Hunstman

Jon Huntsman emphasized his pro-life beliefs today at the Faith & Freedom Conference in D.C.

“I do not believe the Republican party should focus only on our economic life — to the neglect of our human life,” Huntsman said, reports The Hill. “That is a trade we should not make.”

“If Republicans ignore life, the deficit we will face is one that is much more destructive,” he added. “It will be a deficit of the heart and of the soul.”

Before making those comments, Huntsman touted his pro-life record. “As governor of Utah, I supported and signed every pro-life bill that came to my desk,” he said. Bills that Huntsman signed included banning second trimester or later abortions, and requiring parental consent for women under 18 to have an abortion.
