Why Perdue Went from Team Gingrich to Team Pawlenty

Sonny Perdue addressed today his decision to resign from his position as national co-chair of Newt Gingrich’s campaign and join Tim Pawlenty’s campaign.

“I still haven’t given up on Newt Gingrich,” the former Georgia governor told MSNBC today. “I’ve given up on his campaign.”

“I know Tim Pawlenty can be the kind of governor that’s made in tough decisions in a fairly tough environment,” Perdue continued, “and I have confidence …. Republican primary voters will be able to determine Tim Pawlenty is the real deal who has the courage to make decisions.”
