New Pawlenty Ad Highlights Union-Busting, Government Shutdown

The Pawlenty campaign is airing a new ad in Iowa that showcases Tim Pawlenty’s actions during a transit strike and up to a government shutdown to emphasize his “results, not rhetoric” slogan:

Pawlenty certainly took some heat during the bus strike, and was actively involved in the end negotiations that resolved the strike, according to the top transportation official involved in the strikes, Peter Bell. Considering the  current enthusiasm for Scott Walker, it’s no surprise Pawlenty’s highlighting his role here.

The Minnesota government shutdown, on the other hand, while relevant thanks to Minnesota’s current shutdown, also could remind people that Pawlenty resolved the standoff between the two sides by agreeing to a cigarette tax.
