Perry’s Wife Urging Run

Rick Perry’s wife, Anita, appears to have joined the growing chorus urging the Texas governor to throw his hat into the ring for the 2012 Republican primary.

“She sat down some months ago and said, ‘Listen, I know you’re comfortable being governor, but you need to get out of your comfort zone. You need to really look around and understand that our country is in trouble. And you may be the person that we have to have,’” Perry told radio host Janet Mefford.

He said his wife was concerned about the national debt and the Obama administration’s approach toward healthcare.

“I’m not ready to announce on your program,” Perry said about his decision. “But as each day goes by, I get more comfortable that the direction I’m headed is the right direction.”
