Newsweek Depicts Bachmann as Lunatic

This week’s Newsweek cover:

The picture is so unfair that it has even drawn National Organization for Women’s ire.  “It’s sexist. Casting her in that expression and then adding ‘The Queen of Rage’ I think [it is]. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a man – has it ever been done to a man? Surely this has never been done to a man,” NOW president Terry O’Neil told the Daily Caller.

For now, Bachmann is simply shrugging off the incident. Slate’s Dave Weigel reports that she told a voter today that she had not seen the cover yet, and when informed what it was like, said “Well, we’ll have to take a look at that, won’t we?” and then proceeded to explain about her campaign was focused on hope, not rage.
