Rick Perry’s day of prayer Saturday in Houston’s Reliant Stadium drew about 30,000 people, significantly higher than 8,000 or so organizers were saying were expected last week. Optics-wise, that shift means what could have been an embarrassment for Perry ended up being a triumph: he proved he could draw a crowd.
