New Hampshire secretary of state Bill Gardner called on Nevada yesterday to set their caucus date to January 17 or later, saying that New Hampshire may hold its primary in the first half of December if Nevada refuses to comply. The Huntsman campaign, which is centered around winning New Hampshire, is now saying they may boycott the Nevada caucuses if they don’t move the date back.
“In an effort to preserve New Hampshire’s historic first-in-the-nation primary status, the Huntsman campaign will boycott the Nevada caucus as long as the state continues to jeopardize New Hampshire’s primary date,” said Huntsman campaign manager Matt David in a statement issued this morning. “We call on the other campaigns to join us, especially Governor Romney’s campaign given their involvement in moving Nevada’s date forward.”
