Iggy Azalea: People Only Think I’m Racist Because They’re Sexist

My head hurts.

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is responding to accusations of racism by saying that people only think that because they’re sexist.

People including black rapper Azealia Banks have accused Azalea of racism for stealing from black culture to make her music, and make the money and win the Grammys off of it that black artists deserve.

“The Grammys are supposed to be awards for artistic excellence . . . Iggy Azalea’s not excellent,” Banks said. “When they give these Grammys out, all it says to white kids is, ‘You’re great. You’re amazing. You can do whatever you put your mind to.’ And it says to black kids, ‘You don’t have s***. You don’t own s***, not even the s*** you created yourself.’”

In this particular feud, Azalea defended herself by saying Banks was just making something about race when it wasn’t because she’s a “bigot” and a miserable person.

But now she’s saying that people think she’s only racist because they’re sexist.

“Well, they don’t say that stuff about [white male rapper] Macklemore,” Azalea told Vanity Fair.

“So, yes, I think it has 100,000 percent to do with the fact that I have a vagina.”

It’s an eloquent argument, but there’s just one problem: People totally do say that stuff about Macklemore — including Macklemore himself.
