It took just two minutes for the first Republican presidential debate to hit its peak. That was when Donald Trump raised his hand to refuse to pledge not to run as an independent, or promise to back the eventual GOP nominee.
“If I’m the nominee I will pledge that I will not run as an independent,” Trump said. But he said he would not back a GOP nominee whom he did not respect.
Trump’s first debate performance has been much anticipated. He did not disappoint.
