Hours after Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina dared Hillary Clinton to watch the explosive videos of abortion provider Planned Parenthood hawking fetal body parts, the Democratic front-runner refused to say whether she’d seen any of the tapes in question.
Clinton sat down for an interview Thursday afternoon with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, in which Blitzer quickly confronted her with Fiorina’s challenge. “First of all, have you seen those very, very controversial videos?” Blitzer asked.
“Well Wolf, let’s break down what’s happening here, because I think it’s important,” Clinton said, dodging the question to talk instead about a possible GOP-led government shutdown over stripping Planned Parenthood of its federal funding.
“I think we ought to be very clear that Planned Parenthood has served to provide healthcare, necessary healthcare, for millions of women,” she said. “And I think it deserves not only our support, but the continuing funding from the federal government, so that these women and girls, who are seeking the kinds of services that are provided, will be able to achieve that.”

In an interview on July 28, Clinton would only say that she’d seen “pictures” from some of the videos and had found them “disturbing.” She did not reiterate that faint criticism, however, during Thursday afternoon’s interview.
Other powerful Democratic figures have also expressed disinterest in watching the Planned Parenthood tapes. While defending the abortion provider in early August, White House press secretary Josh Earnest wouldn’t say whether anyone in the Obama administration had actually seen the videos.
