Conservative Actress Stacey Dash Running for Blue California House Seat

The Clueless star will run as a Republican in a deep blue district.

Conservative actress Stacey Dash has filed to run for Congress in California.

The Clueless star will run as a Republican in 2018 for California’s 44th Congressional District’s House seat, currently filled by freshman Democratic Rep. Nanette Barragán.

Dash, 51, has her work cut out for her in the deep blue district, which has been represented by a Democrat since 2012 and voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 6 to 1 in the Los Angeles district.

The former Fox News contributor debuted her tag line, “Dash to DC” in Federal Election Commission paperwork Monday. She announced her plans to run for office to her Twitter followers earlier this month.

Dash, who became famous for her character in the 1995 film classic, wrote a memoir called There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative.
