NR Webathon

I’m Flattered

Madeleine Kearns (madeleinekearns.com)
Thank you for your encouragement and generous support.

Reporting on trans issues can be a thankless job. But over the course of the past two weeks, I’ve been overwhelmed by the encouragement of my colleagues and the generosity of National Review readers in supporting our webathon tied to this topic. To date, we’ve raised over $85,000. I cannot thank you enough.

Trans ideologues pretend that it’s only a handful of bigots who object to the redefinition of sex in American law and life. But we all know that’s a lie. I’m always grateful to hear from decent and sensible National Review readers — from all walks of life — who care as deeply about this issue as we do. Here’s a brief sampling of what we’ve heard from all of you:

From Jeff: “Keep fighting for the truth.”

From Steve: “I’m no biologist, but ladies, gentlemen, boys, and girls need our support.”

From Pamela: “Thank you so much for daring to speak the truth, publicly.”

From John: “Madeleine Kearns is a badly needed voice for rationality and integrity in the world.”

I’ll say it again: Thank you.

There’s no denying that, these days, defending sex-based rights and realities is an uphill struggle. Last week alone, the Biden administration endorsed medicalized gender-transition treatments for minors. And Disney has thrown its corporate weight behind the cause of instructing kindergartners in sexuality and transgenderism.

The trans ideologues know they cannot win by persuasion. That’s why they rely on stealth and coercion. But these tactics have a powerful antidote: plainspoken truth.

National Review writers are unafraid to state that a man cannot become a woman. That a woman is not a disadvantaged man. That medically and surgically transitioning children is abuse. And that parents have the right to direct — not to mention be informed of — any psychological care their child receives at school.

To paraphrase Braveheart: Trans ideologues may take our institutions, but they will never take our common sense!

To those who already have donated in support of our efforts to defend sex-based rights and realities, my sincerest thanks. To those yet to do so, it’s not too late! As this webathon winds down, please consider standing shoulder to shoulder with us in tackling one of the most menacing goliaths of our time.
