Illegal Aliens: Being Flown to a Town Near You?

F or months now, the Biden administration has been taking migrants from border facilities in Texas and Arizona and flying them to airports throughout the U.S. interior. From there they are transported on buses to communities across the country. As the New York Post reported, this is being conducted in the dead of night, on an almost nightly basis, by federal-government contractors on the taxpayer’s dime. Most of the migrants are Hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s. Some of the illegal immigrants have criminal records for misdemeanors including assault, drunk driving, and drug possession. This is a shameful circumvention of the rule of law — under Section 1325 of Title 8 in the U.S. Code, which prohibits “improper entry into the United States by an alien” — and an enormous political scandal that should be receiving more media attention.

Back in January, breaking security protocols, the clandestine charter flights flew into an airport in New York’s Westchester County. The Department of Homeland Security did not even bother to alert the local police of these flights, which came in after the airport’s curfew. This has been happening for almost a year. The New York Post reports that as early as August 8, 2021, these charter planes were flying in migrants from airports in El Paso, McAllen, and Houston, among other places.

Aboard these flights were twelve employees of MVM Inc., a private-security company that has been a federal-government contractor for the CIA and NSA in Iraq, according to the Post. The Biden administration is paying MVM $136 million to help transport the migrants. Biden froze funding of the border wall in his first few months in office, yet he is spending taxpayer dollars on transporting illegal immigrants to destinations inside the U.S.

This month, clandestine flights into Westchester and an additional airport, New York Stewart International in the Hudson Valley, have started occurring on an almost nightly basis. Four airline companies are flying the illegal aliens to New York: Omni Air International, World Atlantic Airways, Avelo, and iAero. Migrants are hurriedly moved to charter buses that deposit their passengers in locations in upstate and downstate New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. In order to guarantee the operation’s secrecy, the buses’ company emblems are covered up.

Migrants are being flown to many other locations as well. In January, Fox News obtained video showing buses transporting dozens of illegal immigrants to a parking garage in Brownsville, Texas. Taxis then drove the migrants to Harlington Airport to be flown to cities including Miami, Atlanta, and Houston. That same month, independent journalist Ali Bradley tweeted a video showing more than 130 single adult migrants being left at an airport in San Antonio.

The continuation of the administration’s migrant-transport operation comes amid a nonstop surge of illegal aliens at the southern border. Border Patrol came in contact with 234,088 migrants at the border in April, only 32,288 of whom crossed through legal ports of entry. This marks an uptick from March, when Border Patrol agents encountered 221,303 migrants at the border. Nearly 1.5 million illegal aliens have crossed into the U.S. since the beginning of fiscal year 2022. To put that number in perspective, in the entirety of 2021, 1.72 million illegal aliens crossed into the U.S. Given current trends, border crossings this year will well surpass those of 2021. For further perspective, in 2019, when former president Donald Trump was still in office, 851,508 illegal immigrants were apprehended at the border, about half the number apprehended in 2021 under President Joe Biden.

Since last spring Republican governors have been responding in creative ways to the migrant problem. In April, Texas governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Division of Emergency Management to bus migrants — with their consent — from his state to Washington, D.C., sending a clear message of defiance to the federal government. On May 23, Abbott announced a plan to send 450 more buses of illegal aliens to Washington, saying, “I think Washington, D.C., is going to soon find out they’re dealing with the same consequences as we’re dealing with.” On June 2, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a new state budget that allocates funds for the removal of migrants from his state. Politicians on the left seem to be just fine with allowing illegal immigrants to enter the U.S. — as long as they are nowhere near the neighborhoods of our elite elected officials.

Our elected officials should understand that they are going to have to answer to the American public which is, by a significant number, opposed to the Biden administration’s open-border policies. It is not even beneficial to the migrants themselves, who are often unskilled and lack financial stability, to be dropped in a town or city in the U.S. If Democratic politicians think unvetted immigration into American communities, as in the administration’s surreptitious transport of migrants, is going to be welcomed, they’re in for a surprise.
