Ron Johnson has dismissed the media and guests for the night, saying he'll wait to get the final tabulations before announcing final victory. That press conference is set for 11 am tomorrow eastern time.
Johnson is currently up by ~40k votes, with 93% reporting state-wide. Milwaukee and Rock counties are both blue, with sub-90% reporting.
All is not lost for the WI GOP. Some down-ticket optimism is bubbling forth, with a very possible win for Leiber as Treasurer and possibly one for Loudenbeck for Secretary of State. Milwaukee sitting with 87% reporting, is the giant question mark for these races.
This means that, assuming Masters doesn’t get it done, that everything now depends on Nevada.
Tweet from Gabriel Sterling:
“While county officials are still doing the detailed work on counting the votes, we feel it is safe to say there will be a runoff for the US Senate here in Georgia slated for December 6”
The Republican Party is in very very bad shape if it cannot defeat John Fetterman.
Fetterman is obviously debilitated by a stroke, and his campaign wasn't straight about his condition.
When he was in full possession of his faculties, he supported de-incarceration of violent criminals, and the approach of Philadelphia's progressive DA, Larry Krasner.
A party that cannot beat him in a state like Pennsylvania is dysfunctional in a deeply distressing way.
Well, this has been terribly clarifying.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, a Democrat, will win reelection against Republican Tudor Dixon, the Associated Press projects.
Tim Michels has conceded to Tony Evers. Evers will begin his second term as Wisconsin's governor.
Worth noting: Michels did concede and did not drag out the inevitable with ridiculous accusations of voter fraud, something I was worried he might try — Michels having been outspoken in the past about the 2020 election's results. Small mercies that he didn't, then. We have a low bar these days.
Republican George Santos will defeat Democrat Robert Zimmerman in the race for New York’s 3rd Congressional District, the Associated Press projects. Santos has flipped the seat, which is currently held by Democratic Representative Tom Suozzi.
Republican Monica De La Cruz will prevail over Democratic opponent Michelle Vallejo in the highly competitive race for the U.S. House seat in newly-drawn TX-15, Fox News decision desk projects.
Mandela Barnes (1.257 mil) pulls within 40k of Ron Johnson (1.297 mil).
All other Republican candidates are toast. A once-ascendant Wisconsin GOP now faces a reckoning.
