The 2024 Republican presidential candidates meet Wednesday night for their fourth debate, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. With the Iowa caucuses approaching in a matter of weeks, the debate will feature a smaller field this time, of Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Vivek Ramaswamy — after Tim Scott dropped out. Front-runner Donald Trump, once again, won’t attend. Follow along for live updates and analysis from the NR team:

“The only person more fascist than the Biden regime right now is Nikki Haley.” Vivek is the comments section run wild.

Vivek notes that Jefferson was 33 when he wrote the Declaration of Independence. Not mentioned: he became a governor when he was 37, became Secretary of State when he was 46, ran for president when he was 53, and won when he was 58. Vivek thinks he can skip to the head of the class.

Haley is taking all the fire so far.

Jim Geraghty

Haley’s deploying a pretty good defense of her work for Boeing, and as Ramaswamy was making his criticism, I know there are a lot of big corporations that the typical Republican primary voter probably doesn’t like very much. Disney, Nike, maybe Apple… but Boeing? Does the average conservative really seethe much about the country’s largest aircraft manufacturer?

Philip Klein

Haley straight up lying about the position she took on TV days ago, in which she clearly said gender transition treatment for minors should be allowed with parental consent. Her actual words were: “I think the law should stay out of it and parents should handle it.”

Dan McLaughlin

Vivek to Haley: “You are corrupt….far more corrupt that I even imagined.” This is one of the great feuds in presidential primary history.

Jeffrey Blehar

Vivek Ramaswamy is unloading three debates’ worth of accumulated resentment upon Nikki Haley right now.

Noah Rothman

Vivek deems Haley “corrupt,” which might sting more if he hadn’t been calling everyone corrupt but himself for months.

Jim Geraghty

Ramaswamy describes Nikki Haley as a “military contractor,” which makes her sound like some sort of Expendables-style mercenary.

Dan McLaughlin

Megyn Kelly comes very hard at Ramaswamy’s inconsistent tone on whether his opponents are good people or bought & paid for.
