Nikki Haley is fighting for survival in today’s New Hampshire Republican presidential primary, while Donald Trump could all but lock up the nomination before South Carolina or Nevada even vote. “This race is far from over, there are dozens of states to go!” Nikki Haley says in her concession speech.

Well, I guess it’s better than “getting your ticket punched out of Iowa,” as Ron DeSantis put it. At this moment, Haley trails by eight percentage points, 53.2 percent to 45.3 percent. By speaking early, Haley gets her concession speech in prime time.

Haley continues: “For a lot of people, politics is way too personal. It’s not personal for me … I decided to run because I’m worried about the future of our country and because its time to put the negativity and chaos behind us.”

Haley: “You’ve all heard the chatter from the political class. They’re falling all over themselves saying this race is over. Well, I have news for all of them. New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last in the nation. This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go. And the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina.”

At 8:18 p.m. Eastern, CNN joins the crowd and projects that Donald Trump will win the New Hampshire Republican primary.

Trump closed out the GOP race in the Granite State within 15 minutes of the polls closing. Joe Biden is projected to easily win his party’s bizarre, delegate-free primary race as a write-in candidate. If New Hampshire’s plugged-in primary voters are any indication of the national partisan mood, both parties are perfectly fine with their increasingly decrepit, deeply unpopular frontrunners. The rest of the country, not so much.

AP calls the Democrat primary for Joe Biden with 366 votes counted for him.

Remember, everyone, this is the no-holds-barred fight for an entire 22 delegates. Winning the party’s nomination requires winning 1,215 out of the 2,429 delegates. Coming out of Iowa, Donald Trump has 20 delegates, Ron DeSantis has 9 delegates, Nikki Haley has 8 delegates, and Vivek Ramaswamy has three delegates.

Charles Cooke

AP just called the 2024 presidential election for Joe Biden.

Charlie: One of them ran a joke campaign and says absolutely insane stuff that makes no coherent sense no matter how hard you try to understand it. The other one wears a boot on his head.
